Rain.

Blah, I hate rain. I hate it when I have to go to work in the morning. I have to try to balance my umbrella while making sure my iPod is set at the right volume. And for some reason, the bus seems to get more crowded when it rains. I had to stand today, meaning I couldn't read the Metro, because if I tried surfing while the bus was moving, I'm sure I'd end up in someone's lap. Not a good idea.

So let's see... where I did I leave off last time? Ah yes... the last few days in review:

Friday night: Dinner with Chillier, Judy and Chris. We had a fun time, of course. For some reason, whenever we hang out with Chillier, we always find ways to talk about sex. And I love that about her... she doesn't hold back and she isn't shy about stuff. More people should be like that... just open and not give a shit (and I know Chillier reads this, but I'm not just kissing your ass... or am I?) :)

Saturday: Went to Michael's for pizza, beer and Trivial Pursuit. Two others from Melissa's work came by, and we had a good time - surprisingly, I did well. I thought that my brain wouldn't be working too well since I'm between semesters, but I guess it still works a bit. After that, we headed to Becca's at about 11:30 PM. An old friend of hers was in town and was staying with her for the weekend, so we met him and he was cool, and we played another board game. Yes, we like board games.

Sunday: Birthday dinner for Melissa's grandpa. He's 85. It was good... we also watched some of the Sox-Devil Rays game and there was a brawl. Always a good time.

Monday: First softball game of the season! We won, 13-6. I think this is the first time ever that we won an opener. I played first base (flawlessly, I might add) and I went 1 for 2 with an RBI single and a run scored. We had 19 people playing, so I only got two at bats and only played 4 innings in the field. It was still fun. And "24" was awesome as usual.

Tuesday: I got my grades back... I got an "S" in X-Cultural Mgt (S for satisfactory - it was only a pass/fail one credit class). I got a "B+" in Leadership Skills (one credit class). I got a "B" in Tech Mgt (I totally got ripped off - I should have gotten at least a B+... L and SB both got screwed with Bs as well). But most importantly, I got an "A" in Finance! That's all I cared about anyway. My QPA stands at 3.43. Not too shabby for working full time!

Next up on the agenda:

This Friday is Green Day in New Hampshire. Last time I saw them was in 1994, eleven years ago. How scary is that??

I also booked a Memorial Day weekend trip with Melissa, Judy and Chris to NY. We're staying at the Grand Hyatt and I managed to get four tickets to the Yankees-Red Sox game that Sunday night. Paid too much, but it's worth it.

Our next softball game is on Monday, in a random place in Newton (near Needham). A 9:15 PM game. Which sucks, because it's a late game on a Monday night, and it's during "24." The VCR better work! What also sucks is that classes start again the next day!

Damn, I can't believe my two week hiatus from school is almost over. At least I used up the time wisely. I'm gonna hate having classes again... I really enjoyed actually being able to spend some fun time with Melissa again. I hate when I have to study and she gets annoyed because she wants to do something. But at least it's only for two months, and then I'll have the rest of the summer off. And then it'll mean that I will only have a year to go, and then I'll be done for good. Which will mean time for more important things (look for a house? time for a baby??)

Scary to think about that? Nah, not really.

Friday.

What a great week. Well, I know work sucks, but it's been a wonderful week. Let's look at the week in review:

Friday: Had dinner at Melissa's friend from work, Michael (she's a girl). Michael and her bf/ex-bf cooked a yummy dinner for us.

Saturday: Went to the park with Melissa, Judy and Chris. We threw the ball around a bit, and took some swings. I made a nice diving catch, which left me with dirt on my jeans and sand in my underwear. From there we drove to New Hampshire, where Chris got another tattoo and Judy got her first. Then it was a wonderful dinner at the fancily IHOP.

Sunday: Melissa and I went with Judy and Chris to this flea market in Grafton. It was cheesy, but fun to walk around and see all the crap. It was so nice outside, too.

Monday: Patriots Day. Melissa and I went to the 11 AM Red Sox game (they played Toronto). Schilling pitched, and the Sox won. Despite that, it was still a fun time. We walked down Boylston to check out a little of the marathon, lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, then back home.

Tuesday: Didn't do too much, except I had a nice workout on the elliptical bike at home.

Wednesday: Went to Target with Melissa after work, and got some really yummy pizza from this place in Watertown that our neighbors recommended.

Thursday: Went out to dinner with Becca in Brighton.

And the plans for the rest of the weekend:

Tonight: Dinner with Carly, Judy and Chris. Maybe Uno's.

Tomorrow night: First we're going to a Trivial Pursuit party at Michael's. Then we're going for drinks with Becca, her friend Jen and this random guy that Becca knew from college but hasn't seen in ages.

Sunday: No idea yet.

The good thing is that I've really been using my time away from school wisely! Melissa and I have been so much happier now that I don't have any studying to do. I wish I didn't have to go back to school in May, but I do. Ah well.

And softball season starts on Monday! I'm excited. What sucks is that it's supposed to rain. And it was so beautiful out this past week. Figures.

Another semester done!

Fuckin' A.

So... last Saturday that one credit class went pretty well. I participated, finished the assignments, and then it was done.

Sunday I had to meet up with my groups to go over finance and the tech presentation. More importantly, we played a little softball after, which was great because it was over 70 degrees.

And then Wednesday: I actually did well on the finance final... the professor reviewed it, and I got most of the problems right. And the tech presentation went well too... and then it was over!

So we went back to the scene of the crime... Our House. There was a ton of people there this time (BG, J, L, SB, SM, D, BS, SC, G)... a bunch of pitchers were passed around, and of course we started playing quarters again. Always a dangerous game! But the funniest thing all night was watching Jen get wasted. I've never seen her let loose at all, and after a few drinks, she was all loud and weird and it was funny. It was karaoke night there again, and J would sing along to the songs, and when she didn't know words, she's scream out "BLAH BLAH BLAH" to the tune of the song. It was classic!

At 1 AM, J looked like she was done, so we split a cab home. She was actually more normal in the cab... maybe she sobered up a bit towards the end. But now I get to enjoy two weeks of no class. I actually worked out a little bit on the elliptical machine yesterday after work, and I plan on having a fun weekend. And our softball season starts soon... we might have a team practice next week, and games start during the last week of April. Maybe I'll work on my swing and defense a little more sometime during this weekend!

One more...

I can do this. Really, I can survive one more week.

This Wednesday marks the end of another semester. It's been a tough one... Finance has been tougher than I had expected, and Tech Management has been so boring. But it finally comes to an end next week. I have already completed the Tech take home final, and I still have to work on this group paper and presentation due, as well as study for the Finance final. I'm thinking of leaving early on Wednesday to do some more studying... it worked last semester, so why not do it again.

I also have class tomorrow morning... part two of the cross-cultural mgt through literature class. I've already done the assignments for tomorrow, so I'm all set.

Baseball season has started! I love it. The Yanks took two out of three from the Red Sox, but they should have swept. For some reason, Mariano Rivera still cannot solve the Sox. He blew two saves (and was rescued once by a Jeter game winning homer). I hope he can get his act together soon!

So when the semester finally ends next week, I have two whole weeks off to relax and do some fun stuff. What can I do?
  • Work out a little by using the elliptical machine
  • Do some spring cleaning around the house, as well as outside the house with the new neighbors
  • Practice for softball season, which starts at the end of the month
  • Bug the work agency to find some interviews for me
  • Do some stuff with Melissa that require us to actually go outside

Stuff already planned:

  • April 18, Patriots Day: Red Sox - Blue Jays game at 11 AM, then to check out the marathon
  • April 29: Green Day in NH

Oh, I forgot... have I mentioned before how GREAT the show "24" is??
